• Bourre Plans Restoration of Historic Drew Mansion

    A 106-year-old house that has been listed for several years by the Jacksonville Historical Society as one of the city’s “Most Endangered Historic Properties” has been purchased by a contractor who plans an $800,000 restoration.

    Michael Bourre, president of Bourre Construction Group, headquartered in Fleming Island, said he wants to turn the Drew Mansion in Springfield into a showpiece, a model home to which he will move his main office.

    “Springfield has got a lot of history,” he said. “There was a resurgence going on in Springfield before the recession hit in 2008 and I feel like that is going start again.”

    Built in 1909 as the home of Horace R. Drew, a physician and grandson of Jacksonville pioneer Columbus Drew, the home is located on Third Street across the street from Klutho Park.

    Bourre Construction group joined other volunteers during the 2014 Jacksonville Home Builders Blitz to build or renovate 50 homes over a week-long event in June.  The event, put on by Habijax (Jacksonville’s local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity), took place june 9th-14th, 2014 in New Town.

  • Bourre Construction Renovates Circle K Furniture

    Bourré Construction Group recently completed a major renovation for Circle K Furniture at its new second location on Southside Boulevard at the Southside Square shopping center near The Avenues Mall.

    Bourré Construction Group served as the full-service design-build contractor for the new store that was formerly a CompUSA. The new Circle K Furniture store is approximately 21,000 square feet and the scope of the renovation included drywall repairs, new flooring, updated electrical systems, millwork, wall base and the addition of full display windows to showcase the store’s wide variety of furniture.
